Beautiful things can happen while attending a retreat. A retreat provides the opportunity for rest and restoration, deep inner healing, self-discovery, connection with ourselves and others, learning new things, strengthening our spiritual connection, and more…without the distractions and demands of our daily lives. Dawn Hopkins, one half of the founding duo of The Retreat Ladies that also includes Sara Chesterfield, is on the blog today telling us about her upcoming retreat! Our retreats are designed to help you decompress, de-stress and recover from the demands of daily life. There is so much you can do at one of our retreats: * Take a class or workshop *Spend time in nature *Spend time in quiet reflection *Journal *Meet new people *Enjoy delicious and nourishing meals *Tap into your creativity A typical day might include yoga, meditation, massage/self-care time, hiking or nature walks, a workshop or two, wonderful healthy meals, a mindful eating experience, and group bonding time at a campfire. Dawn: Given the stress of the past three years and the impact it has had on people’s mental and physical health, we wanted to provide a safe, healing space for women to come together to nurture their bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits. The Women’s Spring Renewal Retreat, scheduled for April 27-30, will provide an opportunity for women to experience healing, restoration, growth, and renewal through a variety of healing practices like yoga, meditation, sound healing, Reiki, journaling, nature walks, creative expression, and more. Immersed in the beauty of the grounds of El Rancho Robles, women will be able leave the demands and stress of their daily lives behind so that they can connect more deeply with themselves, others, and God. This is definitely more than just a retreat. It is a soul-care experience designed to lead people on a journey toward curiosity and self-discovery to bring forth the best version of themselves and provide them with new skills, strategies, and tools they can utilize long after the retreat is over. CYM: What are you most looking forward to on this retreat? Dawn: One of the things we are most looking forward to is the sacred community that forms when women come together. A group experience like this provides women with a lasting memory of feeling whole together. As we experience the acceptance of a welcoming community, we realize we are not alone. We can co-create the conditions for self-discovery as we support and encourage each other along our individual and collective journeys. CYM: What would you tell someone who is on the fence about coming? Dawn: If you are on the fence about joining us, remember that you are worth the investment in your self-care and well-being. As women, we often feel guilty about taking care of ourselves. But we cannot care for others if we don’t first take care of our own holy temples. That’s why when we are on an airplane, they tell us to put our own oxygen mask on first. Plus a retreat like this helps us tap into and bring forth the best version of ourselves. This is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves and those we love! CYM: Do you have any other retreats coming up in 2023? Tell us where and when! Dawn: After the Women’s Spring Renewal Retreat, we will be doing some pop up events, half and full-day retreats in the Tempe/Chandler area. We are also planning a longer women’s retreat for late summer/early fall up north and hope to do an international retreat in 2024. Because we are continually adding new events, bookmark our web page.
